why am I here at IUPUI

I am here at IUPUI because I transferred this past fall semester from Purdue University.  The main reason that I transferred was the cost of tuition; but I also transferred due to the difference in curriculum as well.  I am taking a writing class at IUPUI because it is a prerequisite for my course of study. I had thought about taking a writing class anyways this semester, so it worked out perfectly that I had to take this class.  I think that the university requires this course because they believe that their students need a healthy knowledge of writing behind them in order to succeed in their college career and future career.  I don't know whether or not this class will make me happy.  I do love to write and it is an enjoyable task for me but I cannot define happiness.  I think at times it will make me happy and at others it will make me sad.  It might even make me a little upset throughout the semester.  Also, whether or not I like to admit it, this class will upset me if I do not get a good grade in it.  It IS the work that counts, not the grade; nevertheless, many of us will not end the semester happy if our grade suffers. I think I will enjoy this class and the many parts of it and I believe that I will probably take another English composition class although I am not required to.
