I can see why the university makes everyone take a college level english class, most students including myself just wish we did not have to. I would say the biggest reason why universities makes their students take this class is because if we got a diploma, went to work, and couldn't write anything formal without looking like a text message then the employer would be curious what they did at school. I would definately not say that this class will make me happy because I'm sure that like many other students, I'm not sure sure if college is for me. I'm a Marine Reservist going to school, and now that I have a semester of college in my pocket I really hate it. But if I do continue on and complete my degree this class will make me a better writer for the future.
