What I have learn from writing the image analysis paper and the synthesis paper overall is that you basically can’t judge a book by its cover. That I need to learn to take things to a deeper extent and to question as to why things are like that. I feel that these papers will help me in whatever future I follow, I can use these papers to help me understand why I am writing and what it will do for me. I understand that writing is important in any class or profession now. These papers showed me how to cite attributive tags correctly , and to give the authors credit for their articles, it also has taught me that you should always read the articles that interest you more than once, that way you get an overall ideal of what everyone else in the world thinks, instead of being one sided. The articles or advertisements i used all had something in common. They went more in depth than just who was on the cover or who the article. I feel really comfortable about my revised papers after the fact that our teacher showed us the steps into revising our papers. Before I came to English W131 I had never even heard of a synthesis essay or an image analysis paper, so both of these things were new to me. I understand why we wrote them, and revised them in order to make up the final portfolio. What I have learned from these papers will stay with me for the rest of my career.
What did you learn about your topics? Do you have a better understanding of advertisements or images? Of your own generation and how it is viewed?
ReplyDeleteI like how you related the papers/topics to the quote "You cant judge a book by its cover". These papers did help me use attributive tags and taught me that other peoples opinions matter.
