What I Have Learned

Through writing our recent two essays, Image Analysis and Synthesis essay, I have learned different things.  My Image Analysis Essay was about “Got Milk” advertisements. Analyzing the two different advertisements showed me that companies do use different techniques to reel people in towards their product. I also learned by this essay that today, we need to be cautious of false advertisements. Advertisements may show that we will be happy after the product, but in reality we might get a whole different outcome. Bringing McKibben into this essay shows that everybody has their own opinion on advertising.
My Synthesis essay was written about how sex education is not doing its job. Receiving feedback from my peers for this essay showed that my classmates agreed with me. It opens our eyes that as the generations go on; the younger kids are when they are first engaging in sexual activity. By writing this essay, I have learned that someone needs to step up and talk to schools or start a petition for better sex education or even more opportunities to learn about sex and the outcomes it can have on us. I hope the viewers who read it, will see how I see it.
I felt that these were my two favorite essays to write, because we had freedom with them and I could relate more to the topics.

  1. I liked your post. I really liked the fact that we had more freedom in these two essays too. I usually try to put my opnion in every essay but realize that I can't. I know that I liked reading the essays of the peer review. I especially liked yours because ours were similar.

  2. There are some schools that pass out condoms to their students... do you think this is an effective approach to the issue?
