I have learned many different things this semester. After writing the image analysis essay and the synthesis essay, I have learned a lot more than I thought. Before this class, I had no idea of what a synthesis or image analysis was. I was able to understand new ideas and learned a lot. I was also able to focus on my ideas about race and views on race. I always knew that race was a big deal, but in this paper, I got to express my views and others views on the topic. The synthesis essay was probably my favorite paper that I have ever written. I did have trouble with the image analysis at first, but after revisions and feedback, I got a better understanding of it. Throughout these two papers, my views never changed. I engaged deeply in both topics that I chose. I believe that after writing and learning about these two essays, I am a more developed writer and thinker.
I too wrote about race in my synthesis essay and created a better understanding for myself on what was happening today. I was also able to express my views and explain how I felt about every topic that was to be discussed.

ReplyDeleteI had also never been introduced to papers like the synthesis or the image analysis before english W131. I don't know if synthesis was my favorite but I liked the fact that it gave us freedom to put in our own thoughts. I also agree with what you said, after finishing the paper I realized I learned a lot.
ReplyDeleteI agree Brooklynn. When I first saw the syllabus I was like image what? sythesis who? but like you I feel that i caught on quickly and ended up with two great products.
ReplyDeleteIn a way, I was happy that I was unfamiliar with the image analysis essay, it made it more of a challenge to write. It was nice getting to synthesize our own ideas for the synthesis essay.
