End of the Year

This semester has been very helpful for my writing. I feel as though I have greatly improved in several areas, including transitions. THe most difficult thing for me to do is to just get started. Once I was able to get the first few sentences down it flowed a lot better for me. THe thesis staments also gave me problems, I felt as though I could not capture the point of the essay in just one statement. I would still like some ideas on how to become more successful in my writings.

  1. Well, I usually do certain checkpoints when I write. I usually develop the idea of my paper, including my thesis, before completing paragraph one. If this is too difficult, I look at my sources or topic and find a way to link something together and make a claim. After I succeed in doing this, I determine what the body will talk about in a structured form. This is where you listen to page requirements. After I write that much the conclusion comes naturally, since you have a whole paper to refresh yourself off of.
